Common Visitors

As birds and other animals arrive for the spring, raise their young, and prepare for fall migrations and winter hibernation, the visitors you are likely to see from month-to-month shift.  A list of common monthly visitors (adapted from the book “For the Birds: A Month-by-Month Guide to Attracting Birds to Your Backyard“) will help you have a ‘head’s up’ on who to watch for at your local feeders.  These are not complete lists, and always refer to a bird field guide to verify what birds are in your specific area.  I like Sibley’s Field Guide To Birds series as a beginner-friendly guide.
