Maintained feeders, clean baths, spiffy houses. There are a variety of things that need to be done to keep a happy, healthy, thriving backyard habitat. Some tasks should be part of your daily and weekly maintenance (and those are outlined in the Wildlife Care pages), but other shifts are more based on the season and status of migration. As such, each month there are slight tweaks, upgrades, and optional projects you can implement to make your yard a year-round success. Once again, a good additional resource for these types of tasks is “For the Birds“, but the Cornell Lab for Ornithology also has some wonderful references in regards to bird feeder care.
